INTRODUCTORY OFFER - A COMPLIMENTARY 15-MIN ONLINE CHAT ENQUIRE
Here, compatibility meets chemistry. Compatico offers a bespoke matchmaking service for New Zealanders aged 40+ who feel excluded from online dating models, providing opportunities to meet like-minded, like-aged partners in a curated environment.

The human story behind Compatico

We humans are hard-wired to develop a close connection with someone. We all want to feel loved and cared for, at every age. However, the challenges of dating don’t get easier as you get older, with few opportunities to meet a partner of a similar age. Many of us end up resorting to apps and online dating sites that often ‘gamify’ the serious business of finding a trusted partner, leaving us feeling disappointed, distrustful and disillusioned.
That was what Compatico’s Founder, Theresa Gattung, discovered when, after taking a health pause in a highly successful career, she tried dating again (after a 30-year gap) and realised she needed some help getting back into the dating saddle.
A high-achieving businesswoman and celebrated philanthropist who advocates for gender equality, Theresa tried a few dating services, but the experience left her underwhelmed. She couldn’t find a bespoke matchmaking service for mature daters, particularly one that delivered the truly customised experience she was seeking. So, as a lifetime problem solver, Theresa founded Compatico as a premium, personalised, wraparound matchmaking service designed for people aged 40+ to find a partner in life and love. She hand-picked a team of professionals to co-create and launch the business and Compatico came to life – the bespoke matchmaking service that’s based on real, human connection.
Online dating apps have finally met their match.

Our matchmaking service is built on the psychology of smart profiling, human intelligence, and intuitive, personal connections. No more swiping. No more fake profiles. No more painstaking dates with unsuitable people (thankfully!).

Instead, Compatico provides an intelligent, empathetic and sophisticated approach, where you’re supported by a team of professionals to genuinely connect with compatible dates who have real profiles.

With a qualified team of matchmakers offering wraparound professional relationship advice, a team of stylists and photographers to help members feel and look their best on their dating journey, and curated events to practise your skills and enjoy social connections, Compatico delivers a new standard in finding a partner in New Zealand.

You’re never too old to fall in love.

We believe that everyone deserves a chance to find love, yet our research tells us that many mature singles have had negative experiences using today’s impersonal dating models. Many reported that there was no chemistry with their matches, their values were not aligned, and the process was too time-consuming – and over two-thirds never found the right partner.

Compatico was founded to address this imbalance and provide a viable, personalised option for those over 40 years who are seeking an authentic and lasting relationship. We use a blend of innovation and human matchmaking expertise in our ‘art of matching’ to create an authentic connection.

Our team of specialist matchmakers and expert partners provides a tailored service where you’re treated with the respect commensurate with your maturity. Our aim is to deliver a ‘best in class’, secure, empathetic and efficient service to help mature singles find their true match.

“A high-energy and demanding career can be a lonely lifestyle. So, when I took a health pause a few years back, I recognised some things needed to change, including meeting more people outside of work and, potentially, a relationship. Great plan, except it’s not that simple when your dating skills are 30 years out of date.”

Much has been written about Theresa Gattung. She’s well known in New Zealand and admired for her significant achievements and her philanthropy. And one of the reasons for Theresa’s success is because she is exceptionally good at solving problems. In fact, she is relentless until she finds a solution.

So, when Theresa realised it was harder than she thought to find a partner in her 50s, she put her hand up for help and investigated a range of services and platforms. Nothing on offer delivered on Theresa’s expectations. And, true to type, she turned to her distinctive problem-solving mode and decided to create a matchmaking service that delivers the best-possible customer experience.

In founding Compatico, Theresa has curated a best-in-class, premium service for the many mature people who have difficulty in finding a trusted and meaningful relationship in the second act of life.

Co-creating Compatico has been her new passion. She has had buckets of fun along the way, curating an inspiring team of professionals – all great connectors – to develop and bring Compatico to life for New Zealanders. Theresa has merged her personal life and deep professional experience in building a trusted resource that we believe will be valued by many.

“Malcolm Gladwell could have been describing me when he labelled some people as Connectors in his debut book, The Tipping Point. As a PR career professional with more than 40 years’ experience, I’ve built a successful business in New Zealand and supported the growth of many household-name brands by shaping a positive image and then connecting that image with a wider audience. I am excited to bring my skills into this best-in-class matchmaking service to help more people connect in their mature years.”

Deborah Pead has always been mindful of the influence and power of a positive image. As a professional brand builder, she knows it changes the way people respond and engage. She has also seen what loneliness can do to people; how it can rob them of simple everyday joys, and age them before their time.

When Theresa shared her idea for a new business and a solution to loneliness, Deborah saw the intrinsic value of using communications in helping people find the joy of a match. She jumped at the chance of being a part of the operation and working with a dynamic group of professionals in co-creating Compatico.

“In one way or another I have been connecting people for more than 40 years, at first through teaching, and then through media and advertising. I perfected the art of connecting in a very successful boutique executive recruitment agency. And I am furthering my connection skills by completing relationship counselling qualifications, which I can’t wait to use to help people find lasting and fulfilling personal connections.”

In the early days of her career Cindy Mitchener was a teacher in breadline areas. It was a tough role for a young woman and on returning from an OE, she moved into the world of media and quickly advanced through the ranks to several high-profile roles including Director of Sales and Marketing at TV3, National Media Director at Saatchi & Saatchi and Chief Executive at eVentures.

Working in media and advertising, Cindy was heavily invested in researching and understanding the New Zealand psyche and was the inaugural Chairperson of the AC Nielsen Ratings Panel. When a change of pace beckoned again, she formalised her networking in executive recruitment, initially as a partner in a specialist business and then for herself at Mitchener & Associates.

Cindy appreciates the fine art of putting the right person into the right job. She believes that so much matchmaking rests on culture and understanding the idiosyncrasies of people. These are nuances that cannot be detected by a software program. She is a firm advocate of the human touch and believes that people connect with people, not algorithms.

Cindy knows it isn’t easy to put oneself out there and is excited by Compatico’s offering for mature singles. Her skills and knowledge in leading a team of matchmakers will ensure Compatico delivers a great experience for members and successful matches..

Compatico is a win-win for Cindy. She gets to do what she loves best and work with an amazing group of women helmed by the splendid Theresa Gattung.
